  3. Seller Central notifies the seller that a buyer placed an order and provided all relevant information (i.e., name, customer’s shipping address, and product items.)
  4. The seller double-checks the amount of stock in their warehouse. If they don’t have enough stock, they can either cancel the order or purchase more inventory from their supplier (if they have one.)
  5. Once the seller has confirmed that they can fulfill the order, they notify Amazon via Seller Central.
  6. Amazon processes the payment and forwards it to the seller (minus their commission and applicable fees.)
  7. The seller ships the products to one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers using their shipping account or Amazon’s Fulfillment by Amazon service. Whichever option a seller chooses will determine the shipping charges.
  8. Products are stored in the facility until an order is placed.
  9. After receiving an order, Amazon selects packs and ships the items to the consumer. They also handle customer service issues.
  10. After a certain time—typically around 180 days, unsold inventory is returned to the seller unless they have signed up for Amazon’s Long-Term Storage program. Additionally, there are costs connected to this program. 
  11. Amazon notifies the seller once a client has received an order successfully. Their payment is processed through direct deposit or checks (again, minus commissions and fees.)
